My involvement began with taking over maintenance of the prior University of Chicago Maps site, which had started to contain outdated information as it aged. After updating the old site to include the most recent buildings and campus construction, I was asked to oversee the creation of a new site with an updated graphic design and a friendlier interface.
Over a period of several months, I worked with multiple university departments to comission a design and get it approved, obtain the Illustrator files used for the printed campus map, implement requested features, develop an XHTML template, and utilize assistant site developers' abilities to create graphics and pages for each of the university's many buildings.
